Standing by “Where law meets opinions”, interestinglaws.com is a student-led website that wants to deliver an understanding of various subjects encompassed within the legal and the political sphere, and an outlook of the prevalent state of the society- in a simple, easy yet precise manner. Our website is specifically designed to help the curious understand the socio-political environment in exciting ways and consequently help one form opinions that matter. We also help you surf through your career by exposing you to the guidance and advice of some of the most inspirational figures of our community.

With an experienced team interestinglaws.com is launching its 1st National Virtual Law Fest. The event will be organised virtually and it will provide the students, from all courses, a platform where they can enhance their skills.
FORMAT OF THE COMPETITION
There are 4 different events in this fest:
1. Meme – It
The meme sent for the competition should be an original meme/content revolving around any legal, socio-legal or your law school and related problems. Memes can also be a short video (less than a minute), a picture or multiple sets of pictures. Don’t forget to add your username below your meme.Memes would be posted on our social media handles along with mentioning you.
DECIDING THE WINNER: Memes which will get maximum number of likes, comments, shares and save will be declared as our meme master.
A total of 48 hours of time would be provided to these memes, once all the memes are posted, to perform and the meme/post that outdoes every other post within that duration would be declared the winner and similarly the next post would be our runner up!
2. Article Writing Competition
ABOUT THE COMPETITION:
Team Interestinglaws.com is glad to announce its 1st National Blog Writing Competition. We are inviting your submission for the 1st National Blog Writing Competition. Through this competition participants can showcase their exquisite writing and research skills. The winner would be rewarded with cash prize, internship benefits and free publication of blog on our website.
TOPIC AND THEMES:
Any contemporary topic related to Legal/Political sphere.
For Single Author: 50 Rupees
For Co-Author(2 Authors): 75 Rupees

7. Citation Format – OSCOLA 4th edition
8. The file must be submitted in .doc or .docx format.
9. Word cound should not exceed 1500. And plagiarism should be below 20%.

We are proud to announce our 1st edition of National Online Debate Competition, (name), to be held on27th March 2021.
The competition will be judged by eminent persons of the legal field and we hope that through this competition students get a platform to exercise their brains and oratory skills. This Debate is being organized with a purpose to spread the maximum socio-legal awareness among the students and to create exposure to the current issues of our world. This competition will surely enhance the communication and deliberation skills of the students.
The format of the competition will be impromptu wherein the participants will be given the topic of debate on the spot. They will be given 10 minutes to prepare their speech.
RULES OF COMPETITION:
(i) Owing to the style of debate, only individual participation is allowed.
(ii) While delivering their speech, the participants are bound to speak in English.
(iii) While use of a notecard is permitted, no digital device is to be referred to when speaking.
(iv) Cross-questioning is expected and encouraged at the end of every round of debating.
(v) Any use of offensive language will be unappreciated and would lead to disqualification.
(vi) Final decision will be announced by the adjudicator and will remain final and binding to all participants.
This debate competition is open to all students currently pursuing Undergraduate or Postgraduate courses from any recognized College/University.
The debate competition will consist of two rounds.
For the first round, participants will be divided into two groups; one group will represent the ‘for’ side of the topic and the other will have to give arguments ‘against’ the topic of debate. After this division, the participants will be assigned a topic through lottery system. One participant from the ‘for’ side of the lot will be placed against a participant from the ‘against’ side of the lot.
Out of all the participants, 4 participants will be chosen based on the criteria mentioned below for the second round. A lottery system for allocating topics and choosing opposition will be done for this round as well.
Each criterion holds a weightage of 10 marks.

· Relevance of Argument
1. Does social media make people less socially active?
2. Should education be privatized entirely?
3. Is it appropriate to teach religion in schools?
4. Is nationalism beneficial or dangerous in the context of globalization?
5. Democracy is the best form of government.
6. Sex work should be legal.
7. You must be 21 to drink?
8. Graffiti, criminal trespass or art?
9. Abortion, murder?
10. Do states have the right to take life? (capital punishment)
11. A modern world without borders?
12. Modern feminism causing more harm than good?
13. Universal Healthcare?
14. There should be an equal ration of male and female employees in a workplace
The cash rewards for all the above competitions are as follows:
Winner – Rs 500
Runners-up – Rs 250
Consolation – Rs 100
1. 25 percent off in publication fee with JLSR Journal for all the participants.
